How we built this list

We followed our published methodology. In short: we searched Google’s listings for veterinary clinics in Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, Perris, Moreno Valley, Riverside, Corona and Norco, all inside the Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario metro area. Of the listings we found, 88 were open and had at least 50 Google reviews. We removed corporate- and consolidator-owned hospitals (including NVA, VCA and Banfield, both owned by Mars, PetVet Care Centers, Mission Pet Health, AmeriVet and Petco’s Vetco), emergency-only, equine, shelter and non-clinic listings, duplicate listings, and clinics whose independent ownership we couldn’t confirm from their own website. That left 52 clinics. We then checked the highest scorers one by one on their own websites and in public records, and ranked the top 15.

Scoring uses a metro average rating (C) of 4.45 from those 52 clinics, a minimum review count (m) of 50, and a top review count of 1,141. AAHA accreditation comes only from AAHA’s own hospital directory, searched October 21, 2026; a clinic’s own claim isn’t enough. We found no Fear Free Certified Practice listings for these cities in the Fear Free public directory (some clinics list certified team members, which is a different credential), so no clinic earned those 10 points this year. Where a clinic’s own site doesn’t give a founding year, we used public business records and say so in its entry. Ties go to the clinic with more reviews.
